May is an exciting month when it comes to watching the horse races we love, and with the mama of ‘em all barely in our rearview mirror, we’re shining on the handful of our beautiful customers who made a special point to send pics of themselves in their 2018 Kentucky Derby best… which included a lot of Middy N’ Me on May 5.
Not only did these darling women send us photos, but they graciously penned thoughts about what it means to wear their “Middies.” We thought you’d enjoy hearing from them and seeing their styling as much as we have. Tally Ho!

The Kentucky Derby is a special time for me. I met my husband Derby Weekend 2009, when I flew in from California to attend the Kentucky Derby with a friend, and it was a chance meeting that bloomed into a love story. (I always joke and say that, ‘I came for the horses, but left with a husband.’ I haven’t missed Kentucky Derby weekend since that very first weekend we met.
“As an avid equestrian (I show Hunters and Jumpers), I love to find outfits each year that showcase my love for horses and the wonderful creatures that are at the center of the Derby. I first came across the Middy N’ Me brand through Instagram. I loved the bold prints and of course the ode to the equestrian lifestyle. I knew once I saw Middy N’ Me it would be perfect for Derby day and the walk down the red carpet. I worked with Kim, the owner, to get the outfit on a quick turn-around and she was an absolute pleasure to work with! My outfit was delivered early and the sizing chart that she provided made sure I got a perfect fit. I paired the Middy N’ Me outfit with a custom hat by Australian milliner Rachel Henry. It was perfect! I felt beautiful that day, and received tons of compliments from women and men alike about the Middy skirt. Thank you for such wonderful clothes!
